Wir haben uns entschieden, den Wasserradweg West zu fahren. Das positive zuerst. Die Tour ist landschaftlich schön und gut ausgeschildert. Wo die Bezeichnung "Fränkischer Wasserradweg" Ihren Urspung hat, kann ich nicht nachvollziehen. Ja, die Tour liegt in Franken. Am Wasser kommt man eher selten vorbei, noch seltener fährt man auf einem Radweg. Die Wegführung geht in weiten Teilen über Straßen, die auch für Autos freigegeben sind, auch wenn sie teilweise nicht breiter als 3 m-3,5 m sind. Wenn man auf reinen Radwegen fährt, sind sie meist in einem miserablen Zustand. Die Steigungen sind teilweise heftig und nur für trainierte Fahrer oder E-Biker zu schaffen. Für Familien aufgrund des hohen Straßenanteils, der schlechten Wegqualität und der Steigungen eher ungeeignet. Die Werbung hat deutlich mehr versprochen, als der Weg gehalten hat.
